Kirstin began her legal life in Auckland before moving to Melbourne to work at a large law firm where she gained valuable experience in large scale property developments, subdivisions and commercial and retail leasing.
Brett began his career in dispute resolution as a Tenancy Mediator with the Tenancy Tribunal before moving on to general practice and then commercial law, information technology and commercial property development with a boutique city firm.
Devonport is Iva’s home, and her focus and passion is in helping the firm’s private clients and small businesses with their day-to-day legal problems. Aside from her commercial experience, Iva regularly advises her clients on real estate transactions, family trusts, estate planning and wealth preservation, relationship property and separation matters, and intellectual property.
Before moving permanently to New Zealand in 2001, Iva practiced in the technology/media matters, franchising, intellectual property and corporate law for large clients in Europe and the United States. As an immigrant herself, Iva has a good understanding of the personal and legal challenges faced by clients who are in the process of moving their lives or property to or from New Zealand.
A native Czech speaker, Iva was appointed to the board of the Czech New Zealand Business Association and regularly helps the local Czech community with their personal legal matters spanning both countries.
